5 THINGS TO FEEL MORE GROUNDED

*GROUND CONTROL TO MAJOR TOM*

This probably shouldn't warrant a new post, because below is a non given. Most people know how to be more grounded..but this is just a little reminder.

1. WALKING: Try and make a effort each day to go for at least a half an hour walk ( if you can't manage a 30 min walk, any amount is better then nothing).
Walking is not only good for your overall health, but also helps with depression and your overall mental health.

Some suggestions to build walking into your daily routine include:
  • Take the stairs instead of the lift (for at least part of the way).
  • Get off public transport one stop earlier and walk to work or home.
  • Walk (don’t drive) to the local shops.
  • Walk the dog (or your neighbour’s dog).

2. REFRESH YOUR SPACE: Whether its your home, your room or your office, if you take at least 15 minutes a day to do a quick refreshment/ clean up of your space it will make each day less stressful and more of a pleasant space to be in.

  • Wish your space could feel more spacious? It's funny how clutter can build up around you and you may not have realise  it. Perhaps the arrangement of your favorite vases, photos or knick-knacks no longer seems purposeful or needs to be refreshed.

3.READ: These days we are constantly around technology non stop!! Constantly on our phones, laptops etc.
Give yourself 30 minutes... Turn off the tv, put away your phone/laptop/Apple Watch. Sit back and get stuck into a book. You will be amazed by how addictive and relaxing books can be.

Some new release books for 2018 are:

The Tattooist of Auschwitz by: Heather Morris

Sypnosis:Lale Sokolov is well-dressed, a charmer, a ladies’ man. He is also a Jew. On the first transport from Slovakia to Auschwitz in 1942, Lale immediately stands out to his fellow prisoners. In the camp, he is looked up to, looked out for, and put to work in the privileged position of tätowierer the tattooist to mark his fellow prisoners, forever. One of them is a young woman, Gita, who steals his heart at first glance.
His life given new purpose, Lale does his best through the struggle and suffering to use his position for good.

Love Simon by: Becky Albertalli

Sypnosis:Straight people should have to come out too. And the more awkward it is, the better. Simon Spier is sixteen and trying to work out who he is - and what he's looking for.
But when one of his emails to the very distracting Blue falls into the wrong hands, things get all kinds of complicated. Because, for Simon, falling for Blue is a big deal...

The Subtle Art of not giving a F#uck by: Mark Manson

Sypnosis:In this generation-defining self-help guide, a superstar blogger cuts through the crap to show us how to stop trying to be "positive" all the time so that we can truly become better, happier people.
For decades, we’ve been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F**k positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let’s be honest, shit is f**ked and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn’t sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is—a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k is his antidote to the coddling, let’s-all-feel-good mindset that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

4.OFFLINE TIME: Take some time out. Put your phone away. Go and visit friends and family and have an actual conversation without picking up your phone every 5 minutes.
Sit back and Listen to some of your favourite vinyl (I like burning incense and candles whilst doing this, its so relaxing).

-----------------------------------------------------

5. TIME FOR YOURSELF: Take a nice hot bath or shower. Pamper yourself with a face mask, or paint your nails. Buy some expensive shampoos and conditioner and make your hair feel and smell beautiful. Anything that make YOU feel good. DO IT! YOU DESERVE IT!!!!
